Further Information .

I; Hivana wields two nichirin blades, rather than just one. the first of these weapons is slightly smaller than a normal nichirin blade, whilst the other is significantly larger. these two differing blades play crucial roles in executing the many forms of the Breath of Silence.
II; speaking of breath techniques, the one Hivana uses - the Breath of Silence - is entirely of her own creation. it took inspiration from her natural silence, and absolute necessity to remain quiet at all times during its creation.
III; Hivana’s blades are both coloured a mix of grey and white - intertwining along their lengths .
IV; Hivana possesses an extreme sense of synesthesia. she is able to ‘sense‘ the colours of sounds, scents, and emotions. Hivana commonly uses this sense to get by in her day to day life, avoiding those with ‘bad‘ or ‘scary‘ colours, and interacting with those with ‘good‘ or ‘kind‘ colours. Hivana strongly believes that each individual has their own unique colour, and the brightness of this colour reflects their true nature. Demons, for example, have a dark and virulent colour, whilst a positive individual such as Mitsuri Kanroji is paired with a similar hue to that of her hair - a soft, vivid pink. unfortunately, this ability may also harm Hivana, as being in too crowded or loud a location can overload her mind with colours, thus inducing a severe headache due to the intensity being too much for her mind to handle .
V; Hivana has an extremely soft and gentle voice, as one would expect. the difficult part is actually hearing it - due to her intentional silence .
VI; for Hivana to even consider speaking to someone, multiple factors must be met. she must feel entirely safe, without any fear of danger in the slightest. she and the other individual must be alone, and in silence. and, finally, Hivana must be happy. whilst the final factor may be seen as trivial, her mood plays a major role in if she would dare to speak or not .
VII; Hivana’s silence comes from a severely traumatic event, in her early life. at the age of approximately five, a Demon attacked the home that she and her mother lived in. fortunately, through swift, albeit panicked thinking, her mother managed to hide Hivana in a closet. she’d tell the young girl to remain absolutely quiet, so danger does not come - and so, not a word was spoken. but alas, the easily impressionable mind of a five year old Hivana latched onto those words, and engraved them into their being. she’d watch in silent horror through a small crack in the cabinet as her mother was torn to shreds in front of her eyes, and made no sound at all. nor would she, almost ever again .
VIII; Hivana’s estate is suitably known as the Silence Estate. due to her silent nature, title, and the fact that the estate itself is most commonly entirely silent. it’s positioning high on a mountain causes few people to roam the surrounding forest, and those who reside in the estate are also intentionally quiet, though not to the same level as Hivana. fortunately, it is possible - and rather easy - to converse with anyone else there .
IX; Hivana commonly invites others to her estate. this is primarily out of good will - and the fact that she can get rather lonely. it’s also an optimal area to train! the high altitude makes for thin air, thus rendering training far more difficult than usual .

Breath Style .

the Breath of Silence .

Hivana’s breath style is of her own creation, and known as the Breath of Silence. it is a technique indirectly derived from the Breath of Stone, and consists of a staggering fourteen techniques. this is due to Hivana’s unique choice of weaponry; a small, light nichirin blade, and a larger, heavier nichirin blade. the difference between these two weights is great, and effectively wielding both weapons takes much practice.
Hivana has created and mastered this technique, along with the Breath of Silence, allowing for truly devastating attacks to be administered .

the techniques of this style are as follows :
1) Deafened Strike .
Hivana lunges forwards and delivers a single strike aimed downwards with the lighter of the two swords at as high a speed as possible. this technique sacrifices overall damage for a single, extremely fast slash .
2) Hushed Cleave .
as the name implies, this technique involves a large, powerful cleave, administered via the heavier sword in order to bring as much weight down upon an opponent as possible, as it is aimed vertically downwards .
3) Sea of Silenced Blades.
with the use of this technique, Hivana unleashes a flurry of slashes via her lighter sword. this technique comes with blinding speed, and is continued until either forcefully or willingly stopped .
4) Incoherent Impact .
through the use of a blade in each hand, this technique creates a scissor effect - bringing both blades together around a target’s neck. whilst this technique is not the swiftest in her arsenal, it can easily cause some of the most intense damage of all other techniques .
5) Reticent Dual Wind .
the technique employs great risk; Hivana first throws the heavy, weighted sword she carries in order to strike a demon’s chest and pin them against a wall, followed up by a single slash via the lighter blade - upon the target’s neck .
6) Secretive Revolutions .
Hivana spins both blades in her hands, at a high speed. whilst this technique is difficult to carry out, it is primarily defensive, and used to either block a projectile, or create a barrier a demon cannot pass without being diced to pieces .
7) Quiescent Complacency .
when using this technique, both blades are held in an X shape , pointed towards the ground. Hivana stands entirely still, awaiting movement from an enemy. this technique is employed to cause an enemy to drop their guard and approach - where Hivana will then strike. it does, however, lose it’s effect on demons of higher skill - enemies that will know better .
8) Harmonious Collision .
when physical strength itself is all that is needed, this technique is used. wielding solely the heavier sword in two hands, all of Hivana’s strength is put into delivering a single destructive blow upon an enemy. The strength of this attack may be increased via bringing the blade directly downwards, or a revolution of the body - increasing the speed at which the attack is brought down with, as well .
9) Blinding Fracture .
Hivana darts forwards at an extremely fast speed, causing her to move faster than they eye can track on rare occasion. The fastest technique Hivana can use, Blinding Fracture involves only the use of the lighter blade to fully minimise weight. this dash is accompanied by a single swipe of her blade, and is intended to swiftly and a demon’s life. in a sense, this technique is an upgraded version of the First, for whenever it is not enough to kill a demon .
10) Paradise of Silence .
this technique delivers a gentle, caring death to a demon who has already surrendered, or to a demon Hivana feels deserves a merciful, peaceful death. this technique is fast enough to swiftly kill a demon, but not enough so to effectively use in a battle .
11) Serene Whirl .
Hivana spins in place - lashing out at any target visible. these rotations continue on and on, and blows are administered to any foe who would get in range. when multiple opponents have to be dealt with, this technique is just about perfect - as Hivana is not limited to an idle stance whilst executing.
12) Restraint of the Quiet Soul .
a technique intended for defensive measures, the twelfth form utilises the both blades, to create a defensive, X shaped barrier wherever it is needed. the blades are intended to stop any impact headed in Hivana’s direction, and she immediately retreats backwards, either to regain her breath, or to prepare a follow up attack .
13) Pressurised Wail .
as the name may suggest , this technique is a last resort, for Hivana. it involves the use of the one trump card she always has - her voice. a high pitched shriek is released from Hivana’s lungs, mintended to disorientate a demon - or to even cause but a moment of hesitation. given her absolute silence, this technique works remarkably well, but doesn’t only stop with a yell. Hivana's actions lose the once cautious tone they held - no longer focusing on being entirely silent, and a barrage of attacks are unleashed. as this is a last resort attack, these attacks will not stop until Hivana chooses to let up, or until she is killed. however, as mentioned, this form is an absolute last resort - Hivana will not use it unless the situation is dire.
14) Dead Quiet .
arguably the strongest of all fourteen techniques in Hivana’s arsenal, Dead Quiet puts Hivana’s expertise with her dual blades to the test. firstly, the lighter blade is tossed into the sky, and simultaneously followed through with a powerful horizontal slash from the heavier blade. Hivana conducts a full circle to deliver this blow, and continues her revolution afterwards. once halfway through the second revolution, the lighter blade is caught, and the revolution is completed with both blades being brought down upon a target at a downwards diagonal angle. this technique is finalised with the heavier sword being thrown forwards to account for a demon attempting to withdraw, and a follow up attack may be conducted via the shorter blade .

Biography .

Hivana was born an only child, and was raised alone, by her mother. Hivana’s father ‘disappeared’ during her mother’s pregnancy, and the grandparents on either side of her family were long since deceased. with no aunts or uncles, it was simply Hivana, and her mother .
until the age of five, the two happily lived at the foot of a great mountain, on the outskirts of a large trading village. however, this isolation would prove to be the death of her mother. one, fateful night, a demon attacked. Hivana was inside - playing with a small wooden doll, whilst her mother was outside and bringing down washing, when she was struck from behind, by a demon seemingly intent on ‘playing’ with its food.
not yet mortally wounded, the woman first dashed inside of her home - with one thought on her mind; protect Hivana .
before the attacker would follow, Hivana would be scooped up and stashed away in the home’s linen cupboard, before an order that would be forever imprinted upon the young child’s mind .
❛ Kaho, dear.. you mustn’t make a sound. be quiet - silent, and you’ll be just fine. your mother loves you, dear.. ❜
nothing more would be said. one, irrefutable fact would become engraved upon Hivana’s mind. she must be quiet. no matter what, she must be quiet. it was the only way, that she’ll ever be safe .
soon after this statement, the closet door was shut. Hivana’s mother grasped a kitchen knife, though such an effort would prove futile. inevitably, she was killed - by that same demon . Hivana watched. shocked, horrified, confused, saddened.. her mother was killed - torn apart , and devoured. she couldn’t make a sound. she didn’t make a sound. even after the sun had risen, driving away the despicable creature, she made not a sound. that night, a deafened animosity would light within her soul .
she must have remained in that closet for hours. Hivana sat in silence - silence interrupted only by another individual arriving at her doorstep. this person would be Niyo - the man who would discover Hivana in her silent hiding place, and the man who would later become her teacher for years to come. he was a grizzled, middle aged man with a long blade by either hip, and wore a robe coloured a beautiful green laced with patterns of a darker hue.
after her discovery, Niyo would take Hivana back to his own residence - as the girl no longer had a home of her own. there, she would be kept safe. and educated - she’d learn to read and write, under Niyo’s guidance. although, for two whole years, the girl didn’t make a sound.
except at night. on occasion, Hivana would suffer a nightmare - the context of which need not to be explained. these nights, soft words would be spoken - the only time Niyo would ever hear the poor girl speak, until age 7. by this point, Hivana was rather intelligent. she’d shown prowess in the academic subjects she had been taught of, but this was not quite enough, for Hivana. one day, she would gain the man’s attention after a silent approach, and sat on the floor with him. they must have sat for at least ten minutes, before anything was said .
and, it wasn’t Niyo to speak. it was Hivana. she knew of her mentor’s occupation - why he so commonly left at night, why he carried around weapons. Hivana possessed an idea on what Niyo did - through cumulations of stories he’d told of demons, and the brave warriors who would put their own lives at stake to combat the threat they posed.
as such, four words were softly spoken - the first in two years.

❛ I want to fight. ❜

her animosity remained - a demon had been the one to take her entire world from her, that, she understood. although Hivana did not understand at first, she eventually came to accept that the killer she observed was not a human; but something far more sinister.
unsurprisingly, this request was met with hesitation. but, Hivana’s determination would not be quelled. she’d spoken for the first time in years and finally had some sort of emotion behind her long since empty, emerald gaze. a such, she would begin to train .
for five years, Hivana trained her damn ass off. whilst she was unable to use her master’s own technique, Hivana did show great proficiency in a self edited dual-blade style. using one heavy blade for defence and colossal blows and a light blade for offence and fast damage, this sword technique was accompanied by her own Breathing technique - the Breath of Silence .
over these years, the master and student would grow rather close - to the point where Hivana could even hold a verbal conversation with him, which was saying a lot .
at age 12, Hivana would take the final selection, and pass. she’d even succeed in felling a handful of demons, in this time. regardless, this would only be the start of her journey .
from that day on, Hivana spent her days hunting demons. she clawed up the ranks with great speed despite her age - in no small part due to her fighting style and breathing technique, until four years had passed, and she had reached the highest rank in the Demon Slayer Corps - Hashira. The Silence Hashira: Kaho Hivana .
since this time, Hivana has continued her service. killing off demons wherever she is needed, she was eventually granted with her own estate - which would come to be known as the Silent Estate .
the time beyond this point is yet to be documented. because it is yet to happen! history is still in the making, after all .
